A high-altitude wedding where the mountains were the only décor needed.
The Brief
Rohan and Priya chose to marry at 3,200 metres above sea level — a small ceremony with 22 guests, no venue styling, and the Himalayan range as their backdrop. They wanted photography that honoured the austerity and drama of the setting.
Our Approach
We arrived three days before the ceremony to acclimatise and scout. The shoot had to account for rapidly shifting mountain weather — what was clear at 8am was often cloud-covered by noon. We built a shot list designed around the light at each time of day rather than around a fixed schedule, and maintained flexibility to move between locations as conditions changed. The ceremony itself was photographed with a single camera body and a 50mm prime.
The Outcome
The final gallery of 340 edited images was delivered within ten days. The couple used a selection of 60 frames for a large-format album printed in Italy. Several frames have since been featured in Indian wedding publications.
