Legal
License
Last updated: 31st May 2026
1. Overview
This License Agreement governs the use of all photographs, videos, and creative works ("Works") produced by DuoMatics (Ahem and Sahil). By receiving, downloading, or using any Works delivered by DuoMatics, you agree to the terms below.
2. Ownership
All Works produced by DuoMatics remain the exclusive intellectual property of DuoMatics, unless a separate written agreement explicitly transfers copyright ownership to the client. Payment for a shoot or project constitutes payment for a licence to use the Work — not a transfer of copyright.
3. Client Licence — What You Receive
Upon full payment, clients are granted a licence to use the delivered Works as follows:
- Personal Licence: Use on personal social media, personal websites, and for non-commercial purposes.
- Commercial Licence: Use in paid advertising, brand marketing, product listings, and commercial publications — as agreed in the project brief.
- Editorial Licence: Use in editorial publications, press releases, and media features for the purpose described in the brief.
The specific licence type is defined in the project agreement. If not explicitly stated, the licence defaults to Personal use only.
4. Restrictions
Unless expressly authorised in writing by DuoMatics, you may not:
- Sell, sublicense, or redistribute the Works to any third party
- Remove or alter any watermarks, credits, or metadata embedded in the Works
- Use the Works in a manner that is defamatory, unlawful, or misleading
- Claim ownership or authorship of the Works
5. DuoMatics Reserved Rights
DuoMatics unconditionally retains the right to:
- Display and share any Works in their portfolio (online and offline)
- Use Works in promotional and marketing materials for DuoMatics
- Enter Works into awards, competitions, and exhibitions
- Publish Works on social media platforms under the DuoMatics brand
This includes all Works created in any professional capacity — whether as employees, interns, or freelancers. Full details are set out in our Portfolio & Work Rights Policy.
6. Attribution
Where reasonably possible, clients are encouraged (but not obligated for personal use) to credit DuoMatics when publicly sharing Works. Suggested credit: "📷 DuoMatics" or "@duomatics".
7. Termination
Any breach of this licence — including unauthorised redistribution or removal of credits — will result in immediate termination of your licence, and may result in legal action for copyright infringement.
