Work Policy
Portfolio & Work Rights Policy
Last updated: 31st May 2026
Statement of Policy
This policy is formally established and dated 31st May 2026. It sets out the rights retained by Ahem and Sahil, individually and collectively operating as DuoMatics, with respect to all photographic, video, and creative works they have produced, are producing, or will produce in the future — regardless of the professional context in which those works were created.
Although formally published on this date, these rights have been understood and exercised by Ahem and Sahil since the beginning of their respective creative careers and are not newly claimed. This document serves as a formal, timestamped record of a position that has always been held.
This policy applies universally and supersedes any informal or implied understanding to the contrary, unless a separate, explicit written agreement signed by both parties states otherwise.
Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to all works created by Ahem and/or Sahil in the following professional contexts:
- Full-time or part-time employment — any role held at a company, agency, studio, or organisation
- Internships — paid or unpaid, regardless of duration or seniority
- Freelance or contract engagements — project-based or retainer work for any brand, business, or individual
- Collaborative or voluntary work — shoots done in personal or professional collaboration
It applies to work done before the formation of DuoMatics, work done under the DuoMatics brand, and all work done in the future, irrespective of the entity or client involved.
Rights Retained
Ahem and Sahil (DuoMatics) unconditionally retain the right to use, share, post, publish, and market any and all works they have shot — for the purpose of:
- Portfolio display — online and offline, including this website, Behance, and other creative platforms
- Social media publishing — including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and similar platforms
- Commercial self-promotion — use in DuoMatics marketing materials, pitch decks, and agency proposals
- Awards, competitions, and exhibitions — entry of works for recognition or publication
- Press and editorial features — use in interviews, articles, and features about DuoMatics or its principals
- Client case studies — presenting the work in the context of a project outcome or collaboration story
Who This Applies To
These rights apply in relation to all entities and individuals for whom Ahem and/or Sahil have created work, including but not limited to:
- Brands and companies — large or small, domestic or international
- Agencies and studios — creative, advertising, marketing, or production companies
- Startups and independent businesses
- Individual clients — including personal shoots, portraits, and weddings
- Non-profit organisations and institutions
The identity of the commissioning party does not diminish or waive these rights. Entering into a paid or unpaid engagement with DuoMatics or its principals implies acknowledgement of this policy.
Conditions & Sensitivity
DuoMatics exercises discretion in how and when work is shared publicly. We recognise that some projects may involve sensitive, confidential, or embargoed content. In such cases:
- We will respect any embargo period agreed in writing before the project commences
- We will not share work that reveals confidential product information before a client's official launch date, provided this restriction is communicated to us in writing beforehand
- We will consider reasonable requests to delay sharing, but such requests do not permanently waive our portfolio rights
Any restriction on portfolio use beyond a reasonable embargo must be agreed explicitly in writing before the shoot commences, and may be subject to an additional licensing fee.
What This Policy Does Not Do
This policy does not:
- Grant DuoMatics the right to sell the client's images to third parties for commercial gain (that is governed by the client's licence agreement)
- Remove the client's right to use their own commissioned images as agreed
- Override any explicit written NDA or confidentiality agreement signed in advance
No Copyright Claims or Takedown Appeals
No copyright claim, DMCA takedown notice, or equivalent intellectual property complaint may be filed against DuoMatics, Ahem, or Sahil in relation to any work they have created — whether displayed on this website, their portfolio, any social media platform (including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Behance, and similar services), or any physical medium such as prints, exhibitions, or marketing collateral.
This prohibition applies irrespective of:
- The professional context in which the work was created (employment, internship, or freelance)
- The identity of the brand, company, or individual who commissioned the work
- The platform or format on which the work is displayed
- Whether the work was created before or after the formation of DuoMatics
Ahem and Sahil are the original creators of all work they have shot. Creation of the work — not commission — establishes authorship and the right to display it. Any takedown request or copyright claim filed against them in respect of their own creative work will be contested in full.
If you believe a specific work involves a genuine legal concern outside the scope of portfolio use, you must contact us at work@duomatics.in before filing any formal claim, to allow for good-faith resolution.
Disputes
Any dispute regarding this policy should first be raised directly with DuoMatics at work@duomatics.in. We are committed to resolving matters in good faith. This policy is governed by the laws of India.
