An intimate documentation of a private sailing voyage through the Lakshadweep archipelago.
The Brief
A private client commissioned us to document a ten-day sailing trip through the Lakshadweep islands — part travel record, part personal portrait series, part visual diary. The deliverable was a printed book of 80 images.
Our Approach
Shooting on a moving vessel presents constant challenges: changing light, unpredictable motion, and a horizon that never stays level. We worked primarily with the Sony A7C V for its compact form factor and exceptional stabilisation in variable conditions. The colour palette of Lakshadweep — the particular turquoise of the lagoons, the bleached coral white of the beaches — became the defining visual register of the series.
The Outcome
The final printed book ran to 96 pages and was produced in an edition of five for the client and their family. Three images from the series were later licensed for editorial use in a travel publication.
