A six-page fashion editorial shot during the annual white desert season.
The Brief
An independent fashion publication approached us to produce a six-page editorial for their winter issue. The concept was a high-fashion contrast piece — elaborate, handcrafted Indian textiles against the stark, minimalist landscape of the Rann of Kutch during the full-moon white desert season.
Our Approach
We shot across two days and one overnight session during the full moon. The reflective salt flat surface under moonlight created a naturally diffused, neutral-temperature ambient light that was unlike anything produceable in a studio. We supplemented with a single Godox V1 bounce flash for fill during golden hour frames.
The Outcome
The six-page editorial ran in the magazine's November issue and generated significant organic reach on social media. Three of the frames were later acquired by the textile designer for use in their own brand materials.
