A product campaign exploring the visual character of Indian marble and stone.
The Brief
A heritage stone and interiors brand, known for sourcing rare Indian marble and stone varieties, commissioned a campaign to showcase their material library to architects and interior designers. The brief was to photograph the stone as material — texture, light, and character — rather than in situ application.
Our Approach
Material photography is an exercise in controlled light and macro observation. We built a portable studio setup — a black cloth floor, adjustable directional LED panels, and a macro lens — that could be assembled at the brand's stone yard in Ahmedabad. Each variety was photographed at three scales: detail texture, slab-level, and architectural context. The goal was to make a stone feel tangible through a photograph.
The Outcome
The campaign produced a library of 180 images across 60 stone varieties, used across the brand's physical sample books, website, and trade presentations. The brand subsequently commissioned an annual update to the library.
